This morning's sunrise from the back porch |
Yesterday I was reminded that our bodies instinctively know what we need, but that our minds can derail that natural process. My mind often works to squelch my need for joy, spontaneity, pleasure; in fact, just seeing those words can bring up all sorts of uncomfortable feelings of pressure in me.
Pleasure is where it's at. Something as simple as taking a walk is an entirely different experience when I shake off the burden of purpose and simply enjoy how it feels to be connected to myself and the world around me. Today I have much gratitude for this awareness and for every minute I spend present in my body and in my life.
Right on! This is one of the keys. Our bodies know and attempt to show us the way. A big YES! to pleasure. May this season bring you a new delight in it's wake. I like your new photo of the statue of the woman and bird. Perhaps the freedom of the bird is assisting us all in winging our way to enjoyment. I'd like to come by and share some new joy with you.

ReplyDeleteI think this is why we get ill. Finally our bodies have had enough of our purpose-filled minds and force us to listen more intently to things that will allow us to be grateful.
